Me being a tiny bit OCD I can see the attraction of having the strategy guide for your games.. but the pricing is just getting ridiculous.

I sold the Resident evil nemesis walkthrough for £12 the other day on ebay... Reason being i know the game so well, the walkthrough just seemed pointless. But saying that, i do miss having it, weirdly. I have a lot of books, as collecting is a passion of mine, mainly I collect comics, fishing books, books on aquarium/keeping fish and old informative books. On top of my wardrobe sits the biggest of these books, books of value and of a large size, the books that don't fit on any of my shelves and are too liked to be put in storage. In the middle of this collection between a Haynes manual for a Vauxhall Chevette, and and Angling Time annual from 1977 sits a 10 Prima strategy guides, all easily distinguished from the rest of the shelf with their black and red spine, the black spine has a opposing yellow printed on it in bold capitals stating the title of the game, the red part of the spine has a well written and blunt selling line printed over it. Really well done, and you can see Prima did all they could to catch the buyers eye and sell the guide, not to mention how it catches my eye when looking up.

Looking up, the attraction is solidified, CAPCOM VS SNK, DINO CRISIS, GRAN TURISMO 2, GRAND THEFT AUTO 2, GOLDENEYE, LEGACY OF KAIN: SOUL REAVER, MEDIEVIL, POKEMON SNAP, TOMB RAIDER 1 AND 2. They just look so good, and to own them weirdly feels good. I like being able if stuck to be able to consult a book, not google. I also can actually see the attraction of owning them, as for the future they're probably beneficial. One day i intend to hand down the collection i've amassed, and with it the strategy guides, that are not only nice to look at, but very well written, in turn i hope these books will help the descendant to not only play the games but enjoy them. I hope to amass a good 50-100 stratery guides, but for now, i'll just buy them when the opportunity arises, sticking strictly to Prima strategy guides.

Pokemon count: 57

Playstation one fishing games.

Surprisingly, within pal land only a hand full of fishing games were released. Me being a keen fisherman, i have them all and they weren't exactly easy to track down, fisherman's bait 3 eluded me for quite sometime but im going to quickly give you the low down on the good games and tell you the ones to avoid. I will also try and add some picture to this soon.

So you know...all of the Playstation one fishing games include a feature where they cut to the action of the fish you've hooked, and all allow you to turn that feature on and off, which is nice, and something you can't do in real life. All of the games revolve around lure fishing (casting out a lure, then reeling it in), except Reel fishing 1 and 2. All games give you the option to change your line/hook size and bait and also when you've hooked a fish all of the games use a scale of green to red, to indicate when your in danger of your line snapping/loosing the fish, quite simple really.

PAL Playstation one fishing game releases including prices you have to expect to pay:

£2 Action bass

£2 Big bass fishing

£2 Championship Bass

£2 Fisherman's bait

£5 Fisherman's Bait 'big ol bass'

£20-£30 Fisherman's bait 3

£5-£20 Reel fishing 1

£5-£15 Reel fishing 2

£2 Saltwater sports fishing

Of course sometimes you'll get a bargain off ebay, i remember when i got fisherman's bait 3, i payed £19 for it of ebay, then the next day i got another copy of ebay for 5 pence. Thats right even ebay has its good days.

From the off i will state that its wise to avoid Action bass, Big bass fishing and Championship bass; there low price tag should hint that they're not that good games. The reason is quite simple though, in terms of a fishing simulator, these games have nothing on Reel fishing 1 and 2.

To keep it short, if you're looking for a fishing simulator on the ps1, then Reel fishing 1 and 2 are your best bet. The games offer so much in terms of game play, and extra in game add ons, one that i especially like: a fish tank to see all the selected fish you have caught and chosen to keep. When it comes down to it Reel fishing 2 is my preferred of the two games, mainly because its an updated version of Reel fishing 1 and is abit cheaper. I also love that the game includes European native fish, i.e the carp, trout and pike. Whereas most fishing games stick to the highly commercial U.S.A bass fishing and occasionally include trout and salmon, I think this is due to when these games are converted over from NTSC to Pal.

Saltwater sports fishing: This game is really hard to play, but easy to understand. I like the whole look of fishing of the back of a boat and only thing you can see is the sea and your fishing rod (including hands holding it)... kind of makes it feel like its you fishing. But in all honesty, for me this game was similar to Fisherman's bait but with sea fish, and a lot of sketchy graphics, probably best to avoid.

Fisherman's Bait: Now i love this series of games, i have thoroughly enjoyed playing all 3 of them, and each one has additional surprises within the game that surpass the one before it and its made by Konami, so already you expect good things. It is at heart an arcade conversion, although i never played the original arcade game so can't comment on similarities, however the games do really revolve around the arcade mode. These games also allow you to play co-op or versus, co-op itself is quite a rarity on playstation one, so i must admit i was impressed when i found out about the feature. These are also the only fishing games that have a 2 player mode within the game, but the co-op and versus modes both utilise the televsion screen. Player one stands on the left, player 2 stands on the right, sharing a screen is actually a nice touch and solidifies the arcade feel, but when it gets to 3, its a split screen, and i think thats why overall i prefer number 2. The thing is with fisherman's bait games, they're not just about fishing, they're challenging and fun and the whole game is in a league of its won when enjoyed with another person.

If you're not botehred about graphics and just wanting to play a game and have a bit of fun then go straight for Fisherman's bait 2 (big ol bass) like all 3 of the games, there's a selection of mystery fish that you have to catch, multiple different modes, and a bit of humor within the game. For me the time trial is best, trying to catch as many fish you can within the time, and specimen fish adding to your time. There is also a nice little secret within the arcade mode where you can hook miscellaneous items, so far i've hooked a 'rusty can' and an 'old boot'... adding a good 100 seconds or so to your clock. Also price is on your side, it'll cost you a 6th of the price of Fisherman's bait 3.

Back to reality, although some of these fishing games are great, i would in all honesty rather go fishing than play a fishing game. The whole point of fishing is to get away form everything... not be stuck in your room pretending to be fishing. This probably hints at why not many games of this genre were released. But then again that doesn't make sense when saying the exact thing for games like golf... and fishing is one of the worlds most popular sports. I suppose you just can't beat the real thing.

Oh... and Resident Evil reviews will start soon :)

Update

Not much has happened recently. These will be done weekly, and i am now in the process of completing Resident Evil 1, still an amazing game.

I am also well into Pokemon red, its a superb little game, and really is justified in my opinion as one of the best games of all time.

I will only do a recently bought post once a month now, mainly due to the fact im not buying as much as i once was mainly due to me saving up for university and for a car.

Expect the Resident Evil 1 review this friday.

selling out

Selling all of my spares!

Its been 2 weeks

So yeah, i've been awfully busy over the last 14 days, mainly with college work, so the games hunt was slightly put on hold. But i have been a little lucky of recent, and picked up the following:

Actua ice hockey, ps1, 50pence
Hardcore 4x4 , ps1, £1
Namco museum 5, ps1, £1 + £2 postage
Need for speed: road challenge, ps1, £1 + £2 postage
RISK, ps1, £1 + £2 postage
Capcom generations, ps1, £1 +£3 postage!!
Alone in the dark, ps1, £1
Grand theft auto london, ps1, £1
Resident evil, ps1, £5
Forumal one, ps1, £1
Evo's space adventure, ps1, £1
Virtual pool, ps1, £1
F-15 strike eagle, c64, £1

I also managed to pick up a boxed official sony playstation one controller. I have slowed down on the games hunt though, just because of the decline of money in my pocket.

I have no got a Xbox 360 again, and Halo 3. That has saved me alot of money, and taken my mind of games in general, which has to be done sometimes.

Im going to be moving soon to wordpress, as i have plans for a new bigger and better blog. So keep ckecing back. I recon within the next 2 weeks, i should be up and running over there.

My top 10 video games, of all time.

So I decided to do a top 10. Now to me, a top 10 is an incredibly hard task, and if you ask me tomorrow for my top 10, it will probably be different depending on the weather.

I should probably also say, about me, as a gamer, my first console, i believe was a commodore 64, but tbh, i don't remember it, at all, so i would say my first memories fo gaming start with the Sega Megadrive, and continue with the: Playstation 1; Nintendo 64; Dreamcast, Playstation 2, xbox, xbox 360. So what im trying to say is, you won't be seeing any games prior 1996 in my top 10! Sorry!

From now, until the end of time these 10, will always be highly rated, and hold the greatest gaming memories for me.

Number 10: Future Cop L.A.P.D

To me, this is possibly one of the most under rated playstation games ever released. The memories I have of this game are incredible. I used to spend hours as a kid with friends playing co-op against the pc, and then against my friend on precinct assault. Co-operative play on the playstation wasn't really heard of at all, and it was new to me, which made this game so much more memorable. If you haven't played this, then I highly recommend, whether it’s to play by yourself, or with a friend, this game has so much to offer, and is surprisingly testing.

Number 9: Tekken 3
Well, lets be honest, a Namco's Tekken did have to make the top 10. I can still remember when young spending hours trying to unlock all characters, and learning the combo to use yoshimitsu's sword. It was an amazing game, and still is an amazing game. It brought multiple new modes to the Tekken franchise, making it more than justa fighting game, it made it a fun and forever a replayable game.

Number 8: Tomb Raider 2

I don't know when it happened, but I think for most there was a moment, when they played a tomb raider game, and fell in love with it. For me, I fell in love with number 2. I'll always remember the day when out fo the blue my father got me this game on the launch day I must add, and it literally blew me away. The hidden secrets, dinosaurs on the first level (if you know where to look) and a grenade launcher all there and waiting for the brave gamer. For me, number 2 is the best in the series, and is definitely worth the few quid you can pick it up for.

Number 7: SoulCalibur 4

Not much to say about this, I love it, my girlfriend loves it, plus I’m not that bad at it either. Great arenas to fight on, great achievements, great game. I love the characters, the downloadable star wars character is an actual gem. I can and have spent all night on ranked soulcalibur online fights. Its well worth a try, and for me, is the best in the series of SoulCalibur, and the best fighting game released ever.

Number 6: Goldeneye

Goldeneye for the Nintendo 64, for me, like so many others, this was the game to have if you had a n64. In fact until my number one came along, I would say this was my favorite and the best first person shooter of all time. Its still timeless, difficulty settings can be changed to make it harder for you, and the multiplayer mode was the bench mark that every fps had to meet after it. Let be honest, no other fps multiplayer mode could even rival this legendary game until Timesplitters was released...many years later.

Number 5: Resident evil 2

Resident Evil games are iconic. For me number 2 is the best. I can remember as a 10 year old having to participate in a 10 minute read every morning at school. I read the Resident Evil 2 strategy guide. I loved this game, as back then so much fo it appealed to me. Crocodiles, guns, zombies, monsters, and best of all your going to be the hero, Score. Like a few other games at the time, Capcom had cottoned onto the fact we gamers love the unlockables and being able to boast about our scores, so they made sure that both of these were key parts of resi 2. Grading based on your time of completion and health packs used gave even the most experienced gamer a hard time, and the esxtra mercenaries mission in my opinion were a real treat. I must also mention resi 4 and 5, as both of these games nearly made it here, but for me resi 2, was the turning point in my gaming life. I must also add, i enjoyed Resident evil 2 most on the Dreamcast and Nintendo 64!

Number 4: Pokemon red/blue/yellow

I played it before school, I played it at school, I played it all night, I played it in bed, I wanted to be the very best. To me, these games are the best games ever made for gameboy, and very worthy of fourth place. These games captivated me, and took my mind off to another world, where I lived and died pokemon. The great thing about pokemon, even for people who dont like pokemon is simple; during this game you've got 2 main missions, win the pokemon league, and collect all the little pokemon, great right? To me i think it is great, and its no easy task either. You also have little side missions in the game that you must do to get onto the next part of the map. For a little red/blue/yellow cartridge this game destroyed the gameboy's programming boundaries and took away a good week of my life.

Number 3: Grand theft auto: Vice city
Now i'll always remember when this came out, all the hype, all the press, and for once the hype was true. This game blew me away. I must have spent every spare moment playing this game... Unfortunately I had an operation just before the release fo this game that made me bed striken for a good month... a bad thing right? I mean for once all I had to do was play vide games and lay around, this game became the best thing in my life. I don't think I could ever get bored of this game, I used to play it on the xbox, and on the xbox it had a really great touch, the ability to listen to your saved music on the gta radio... brilliant. Lets be honest your speeding down the road with the army after you, wouldnt you much rather do it having a sing along with R,E,M's greatest hits? haha. Seriously though, this game has so much to do, its got a great story line, and its another one of those games that you can work towards and feel accomplished when buying something or getting to a certain point. Seriously, good game.

Number 2: Final fantasy 7

Final fantasy 7, I must admit it was close between 7 and 8, but I chose 7. Why you may ask? Well it is simple, this game was the first one I played, like so many other games in this list, when I first played it, it left an unforgettable impression. I may as well tell the story... It was just after Christmas, and I had a whole £20, so me being a kid, I wanted a new game, in fact writing this I remember the joy I had in the toy shop, and the smell of new games. Now me being greedy I saw this game, Final fantasy 7, platinum, £20... and it has 4 discs! I was like yes! So I bought it, took it home, put it in the playstation and though wtf! then I loved it. The fmv, the battle system, the story, it was all so new to the ps1, and a game experience i'll never forget. I remember playing it for a whole weekend at the age of 9, not having a memory card meant the console was never turned off, I completed the whole game in a week as a 9 year old kid, and well i will never forget it. That’s why its one of my favorite games of all time.

Number 1: Halo 3

Now, I know a modern game gets my number 1 spot? The reason is simple. This game has 3 great points to it: Online play, Online play, Online play. The hours I have spent on Halo 3, continuously going for those silly achievements and forever trying to fill the medal chest on bungie.net is actually insane. This game had me gripped, and I still love it. There really is so much about this game I love, the tactics whilst playing online. The winning of games against or with friends, the whole online experience, the whole game is truly incredible, gaining exp to level up, and going up in rank, it’s a great feeling. The story mode isn't too bad either, and in fact it’s a bloody challenge if doing it on legendary difficulty. Halo 3 isn't just a game; it’s a way of life. Its game you can pick up and play, but to be able to truly play, Halo 3 needs to be your job. For many Halo 3 is a way of life, and like those sad 500,000 people who religiously play it, I happen to agree.

I hope you've enjoyed my top 10. Please keep checking back, i'm not going to be postinga new blog now untill the 25th, so expect a big update on my finds and for all who care:

Pokemon count: 017

Badge count: 3

Time count: 3:18 hours

Recent addition 14/5/09

Of recent i haven't really been buying too much. Cash flow is at an all time low, and im actually in debt to my father via ebay finds. Yeah, my father controls the ebay/paypal account, and i use it, bad times for him and me.

Now along with the tough money times, i also am now in the final week of education for the year, so yes, its all hands on deck. 2 assignments have to be finnished within the next 4 days. Its going to be tough. So games really aren't on my mind

Buy i did buy an Xbox 360!! xD. Oh how much i have been longing to replace the one i had to sell. Yeah i sold my last xbox, it was conflicting with exams to much. I'm abit of a halo 3 geek. I payed £102 for a second hand 20gb hardly used one of ebay. inc postage. So it wasn't a bad buy, infact im pretty chuffed. As as soon as thursday comes, i will be halo 3 all day. Ah shit, im working till 9pm on thursday. Maybe, just maybe, when 9pm comes, i'll be running back to commence trainning, infact i know i will be.

A lighter note...
Also i have for the last couple of days been tearing up Pokemon red, on the original Nintendo gameboy. Its like being 10 again, and i think that it must be one of the best games of all time. Its timeless, nearly impossible, and amazing. The fact that if your a loner kid, you have to compleet both red and blue to get all 151 pokemon is genius. Or if you have friends you can trade with them. i really love it. I still can remember paying 50pence for a horse like pokemon when i was young to finally have the full 151 pokemon. It was a moment. Just so you know, im on 10 pokemon at the moment. I think at the bottom of every blog now, i shall add 'Pokemon count:' Also, if i finally get all 151 pokemon, i may get a Nintendo gameboy printer and print that little fucking certificate out!

Hell yes.

Pokemon count: 010

The rarest pal ps1 game.

I started collecting video games around 3 years ago, but around 6 months ago i decided to dedicate alot more of my retro gaming money in the hunting of ps1 games. Ever since then i've known about and wanted this game. Its incredibly rare, its an australian exclusive, and is widely regarded as the rarest playstation one pal game around. Ever since i found out about this game i have been trying to track it down. Continuously scouting ebay.com/au, hunting it out on australian websites, literally anything i could do to get my hands on a copy. When i nearly excepted it as impossible to find i was lucky enough to be offered a copy. around

Why is this game so rare? Well, in all honesty, im not 100% sure. I think, as a european collector i am a 24hour flight away from australia, making this game impossible to locate at my local game shop or carboot. I only found this item once on the internet, in aus, but it was incomplete, and no picture.. plus it was aus postage only. I'm not entirely sure how many of these were produced, but a little but of detective work can show that it wasn't mass produced, purely because it was released to such a niche market that is down under.

This to me is amazing, in so many ways it is unlike any other game i know. This does not have an sces code on the spine. For me that immediately gets an extra kudos. The insides themselves are quite special, they include both manuals for both games, 2 discs, Gta london picture disc, and gta platinum release. The GTA platinum release is also in a paper wallet, to me that is beyond interesting, its incredible, and also hints at low budget. It also comes with 3 posters for san adreas, liberty city and Gta london. Pretty much my prized ps1 game now along with Heberekes popoitto. Just for the rarity and obscurity factor.

Halo 3: ODST and Halo Reach.

Im so excited. I had to think about exactly what my aims for the collection im amassing is. Now, i kind of know.
I will say this now, as im sure within the next few years 50% of the money i earn is spent on games, and i feel now it is important to know what i want to achieve. I will also say I am hoping to holiday to japan in the summer of 2010/11, thats right, Japan. Sight seeing and japanese video games, couldn't be more amazing. I recon Tokyo will be amazing to see, and obvioulsy secretly there will be a game hunt going on. Best convince the lady its worth getting in more student debt so we can go see Tokyo.

Anyway, I will quickly summarise where i want my collection to end up:
I have a list of around 200 games for the Megadrive and SNES, that i aim to obtain. The SNES games are all NTSC though, as they got all the good releases like Final fantasy/mario rpg etc. Thsi 200 odd game list is always increasing though. There are around 50 game boy and gameboy color games i want, in immaculate condition, not an easy task. I am forever going to work towards the ultimate goal of a full english title ps1 set, so no coutry exclusives for me. Just the games with titles i understand, and no cover variants either, there is too much variation for me to keep up with lol, just the simple, yet incredibly hard to complete ps1 collection. The snk neo geo. I pray i can find a mint boxed euro one for under £200. Its even worse knowing all the good games are £100+...i cry inside. A full Dreamcast set, not impossible. Pretty easy in comparison to the rest, just cant be bothered to start it yet. For N64 i plan to obtain a full set, but this is really last on the list of things to buy, as i only really want to play mario kart, i'll probably just pick games up for the DC and N64 when the opportunity arises. I also hope to obtain variant box consoles for each system, but upon getting all that stuff in the above list, i can literally wave goodbye to over £15,000. But helloooo Josh's games room.

Now, i do have a list of games, consoles, box sets, and perhiperals for over 7 consoles, that i hope to have one day ticked off. Its of around 1800 titles though, and more is being added to it, than things are being ticked off. My bad.

Admitedly, this is a massive list, and many will say its impossible, but im in no hurry to collect it all, Maybe give it 5 years and hope to be over 75% of the way through. My main priority is buying games that are cheap, and its a bonus if they're good, im just trying to amass the bulk of the collection right now while i dont have to pay a mortage. So heellooo Carboots and charity shops. I also, have set myself a limit on games, of £1 max, unless its a rare game, where i will probably blow my budget by the hundreds. Obvioulsy that £1 rule doesnt count for snk games.

Oh and a time crisis or house of the dead arcade cabinet... but i'll give that a few years!

God help me.

A big deal.

So the big haul came in last night, £51 worth of gear, inc postage. I'll have to start with the games, as well they're all amazing games, and im honestly really excited!

Now although this picture can't show it, all of these games are in immmaculate condition, Its evern a shock, as most even have their original receipts from when they were first purchased, true collectors condition.

All of these games came in a bundle with the console, apart from Kart duel and Battlestations. Both of these games were bargains though,Kart duel was bought for 50pence and I also got Battlestations for 99pence, could i have scored a better deal? I highly doubt it.

I should also quickly mention Tekken here, as well you may have noticed that it comes in a jewel case, but no, its not the "best of"/ "value series", its an actual original release, and the first i've seen. The thing is I have the carboard box version somewhere, which up untill now i thought was the only first release version, this is very interesting, and infact a very rare variant. Also, Formula 1 97 is another very rare variant, this one comes with the '97 psygnosis releases demo, a nice little find there.

Very rare:

This truely is a gem, its brand new, and to add i have only ever seen one other, as im assuming that majority of these were destroyed on christmas day by eager children.

The outer PSone starter box is solid, not a slip over box like many other console box sets, and the Psone, controller and memory card all go into the big box snugly and very neatly. It really is a gem in my eyes, and well worth the money, athough I basically robbed the seller, but its okay. It also included the platinum spyro, which is sealed, so thats gone into my sealed games box ha. The memory card, and controller are also still sealed, this set probably is probably the gem of my collection now, along with a few other items, which i will show another day!

I also happened to of found a incredibly rare australian exclusive game, via a friend whom lives down under, but more information and pics when i get the game through the door!

A late delivery

This evening I happened to get my parcels from ebay, which, for the last few days I have been waiting for the fucking postman to deliver. Admitedly its not boxed, but the cartridge is in great condition so i was well chuffed.

I also managed to find, Crash Bandicoot double case edition for
ps1, along with The Grinch and Dino Crisis 2, both The Grinch and Dino Crisis 2 have been wanted by me for so long, and at £1 each i was not going to turn them down. I've been thinking about it for a while, and although I know soon i will have to probably rely on it to find certain games, for now i have decided to abandon ship.

Why? you may be asking yourself, well the reason is pretty simple. games are to expensive, the majoirty turn out shit, and it distracts me from college work. I know, I will continuously look for bargain on it, but I had a little scare last night, as well I use my fathers paypal account, and well i had just spent too much, and i reaslised it was time to stop. I'm truely passionate about getting the pal english title ps1 collection together, but i feel i will just rely on charity shops/car boots/forums to amass the bulk of the collection.

Ebay of recent has dealt me some amazing finds, for example, last night i got 2 amazing games for £6, and a incredibly rare ps1 set for £45 (blog coming soon), but thats £51 when added together, and its £51 I don't really have. Collecting games has really become an obsession.

Its time I kick the habit, and just collect for fun.

New finds

Baragin hunt friday revealed some amazing finds,

Final fantasy 8 , ps1 - £2
Duke nukem land of the babes, ps1 -£1
Inspector gadget, ps1 - £1 Sealed.
Ridge racer 4, ps1 - £1
total nba '97, ps1 - £1.50
Lethal weapon, commodore 64 - £1

Not a bad selection really, all chairty shop finds, was particularly happy with ff8, as i recently had to sell it due to poor funds, but getting it back for £2, score. For sometime now i've been hunting down the HMV exclusives, and today through my post i got this:

This is a HMV exclusive version of World cup 98, there is only one difference from the original, and thats the front insert is holographic. If you also think they're rediculously over priced have no fear, as i have a solution, go down to your local gamestation 90% of the time they have one out back, and buy it for a quid, or go on a scaveneger hunt at you local carboot where you'll pick them up for as little as 50 pence, score!

But if you are seriously thinking of paying £3 for a memory card + postage (which i think is extortionate), just go onto ebay, search video games, then edit options, ie consoles, games or accessories, max £3... and look at all the better things you can buy, sometimes, you can even buy a game that comes with a memory card for a cuple of quid, much more appealing, right?

Note: I have bought many games this week, and come early next week type='text'>Ebay

I have alot of lovehate with ebay. But mainly hate for stupid sellers that overprice, well the majority overprice. Yet now more that ever it really annoys me. I tend to notice sellers that continuously relist their item and wonder why they're not selling. Its a regular occurance on ebay that sellers will individually list games, 99p start & £1.99 postage, now who in the world is going to pay £3 for Formula 1 98, or V Rally, or G-police, you get the games im on about right? you can get these games from your local thrift store for less, much less.

So sellers, heres a tip, put all the games in lots, stop trying to rip us of in your postage, as to post a game it costs as little as 74pence. So get bundles of 4 games, £4 postage, and 99pence start. You'll make a quid on your postage and an even bigger plus... you'll get bids. Its a known fact we collectors need the games your listing, but we're not going to be ripped off, and we're deffinetly not going to pay £3 for a game which is very common.

Ebay does have its benefits, i mean without it, the true rare games i need for my collection would be unobtainable. But has anyone actually took note of the fees to sell your items?!... fucking hell. I mean wtf is luxenbourg tax anyway? I know if i sell a game for £10 inc free p&p, i get charged £1.78 of ebay, then 70 odd pence of paypal, then £1.40 postage (first class) oh and 20pence to list item, im effectively loosing £4 out of the ten pounds. Really doesn't seem worth it to me. Why people bother selling items when ebays and paypals fee's are so high seems silly now. I think all items on ebay that sell for under £10 should be free of tax or atleast really cheaper to list, so we atleast get £9.50 out of the £10 before we take out postage?, it will never happen, but it would deffinetly be nice.

Oh, Bargain of the day, Casper only £2 complete. Been looking at this game for so long on ebay, but i refused to pay £5/6 for it, perserverence payed off :) I will uplaod some pics of this weeks games on Monday.

Do i look like a mug?

Ok, its known to every collector that some items you want in your collection are going to cost you, ie for me i badly want Kula World, its a £50 game, so obviously it angers me that these 'retro game heaven/bullshit ebay stores' list it at £70/£90 buy it now, italian and german sellers i find are the worst for it, seeing there is a demand, they're whacking on £20 to £30 quid, clever, but they're hopefull to say the least. I really refuse to buy them for that, and so do the majority, infact if its got that 'best offer' link i generally offer like a quid, just because i do get annoyed.

I generally avoid ebay for games, as its easy to spend money you dont have, but today i got a few games through the post though, 'Arcade greatest hits the atari collection 2', 'Reel fishing 2' and 'zero divide', all 99pence each, not bad right? they're each individualy worth 5 times that, so i was more than pleased to get them for 99pence each, but it was like £6 postage.. postage is the main reason i dislike ebay, well its ok for big items, but when buying individual games its just not worth it. But back on the subject of the Arcades greatest hits ps1 game, it really is amazing, if i was any good i would play gauntlet all day, i'll get some pics up of them soon, as i have been trying to track them down for a while and therefore im particularly proud.

I also get paid soon, well at the end of the month, and after paying the deposit for WWE DX Invasion tour (oh yeahh), buying the essentials and budgeting for the month, i plan to spend the rest on new games, infact i have a list:

Pop n pop - ps1
Metal slug - ps1
<strike>Hebereke's popoitto - ps1</strike>
Divers dream - ps1
Arcades greatest hits the atari collection 1 -ps1

They're going to cost quite abit, so i will definetly shop around first. Hebereke's is going to cost the most, probably £30, but i will search across the continent and hunt for a bargain. Hopefully will try and get the lot for around £40, it all depends on postage costs, and does require alot of hoping.

Oh i forgot australian sellers...Actually i best just forget them.

II

So i do not understand this site, what so ever, and i put that adult er warning thing on aswell, incase i swear. I swear alot, so i felt it was needed.

Just to clear things up, i collect video games, yeah, i know, im reall cool, but frankly everyone likes differnet things whether it be bondage, goth stuff, formula one, golf, maths or one of the million of other wird things you can be into; and becuase of that i would rather not be judged, but in this society i expect it. I also like to go fishing.

Should probably go into details about this video game stuff, i like to play video games alot, and i have a girlfriend. I play alot fo video games, and collecting takes up alot of my time nowadays, but shes doesn't care, so i like to thik im incredibly lucky.

I suppose i've been collecting for around a 2 years, but due to having a social life/halo 3/girlfriend i didn't get to buy as many games as i would of liked. I recently sold my xbox 360, as i was addicted to halo 3, addicted to a game? yes i know, its lame, but i had to kick the habit, and now i have some cash, which means i am probably going to buy a few games, and alot of beer. Actually alot of games, and alot of beer. I currently own too many playstation ones and a couple hundred ps1 games and a gamecube, and like loads of diffrent games for loads of different consoles, if i see a baragin, i'll buy it. I have a issue aswell, i mean it has to be boxed, and have instuctions but i pay the money so i make the choice. I also like to buy sealed games, being a collector and all that, but have you seen the laughable prices for sealed games? i will go into that tomorrow..hopefully.

I

I'm going to start this real soon.
